Thailand is mostly free from Malaria apart from a few areas near its borders. - Ko Chang is in Thailands South-eastern province, and hills in Cambodia are clearly visible from the coast. Just our luck, this area of Thailand is resistant to just about every form of malarial drug, so we're being super careful not to get bitten while we're out here. - Only 3 bites so far!
Richard and I are both on a drug called 'Mefloquine' (aka Larium) which we now have found out is only 30% effective in this part of the country. A lot of people who take Larium experience some weird side effects. As for us we've both been having some really cool and realistic dreams, but I'm not sure if that's just cuz I'm on holiday or if it's the Larium. Perhaps Larium might be the next LSD in disguise! - remember you heard it here first!
